Ukraine Needs Another 400 Million Euros to Purchase Gas Before the Heating Season — Shmyhal
Ukraine needs to secure approximately 400 million euros in additional funding to purchase natural gas before the start of the heating season. The government is counting on support from international partners.
This was stated on August 4 by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with the heads of Ukrainian diplomatic missions.
According to him, depending on various scenarios, Naftogaz of Ukraine’s additional funding requirement for gas imports amounts to approximately 400 million euros.
“Gas for the winter. Under various scenarios, Naftogaz’s additional need for financing gas imports amounts to 400 million euros,” Shmyhal noted.
The minister added that efforts are currently underway to engage international partners who can help secure the necessary financing for gas purchases.

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of issues falling under the purview of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal. The government published the corresponding Resolution No. 984 dated July 29.
