Ukrainian beef exports have increased 25-fold
From January through August 2026, Ukraine exported 3.04 thousand metric tons of fresh and chilled beef. This is 25 times more than during the same period last year. At the same time, foreign exchange earnings from the export of these products increased nearly 34-fold, reaching $24.36 million.
In August alone, Ukrainian exporters shipped 474 metric tons of fresh or chilled beef abroad. This is 38% more than in July and nearly 25 times more than in August 2025.
Revenue from August shipments totaled $3.95 million—44% more than in July and 37 times more year-over-year.
Exports of frozen beef also increased. In August, Ukraine shipped 1,820 metric tons of this product—8% more than in July and 34.2% more than a year ago. Revenue totaled $8.16 million.
Over the first eight months, frozen beef exports reached 12,750 metric tons, worth $57.56 million. In volume terms, shipments increased by 1%, and in monetary terms, by 12%.
Also in August, Ukraine exported 1,320 metric tons of live cattle. This is 1% more than in July and 31% more year-over-year. At the same time, revenue fell by 11% over the month to $3.62 million.
