Ukrainians have submitted more than 127,000 applications for the "School Student Package" payment
Ukrainian parents have already submitted more than 127,000 applications for the “Schoolchild’s Package.” Of these, 121,000 applications have already been successfully processed.
“Over 127,000 applications have already been submitted. Of these, 121,000 have already been approved. This shows that the system is operating with maximum transparency and clarity, as virtually everyone who applies receives the funds,” she said.
According to the regulations, funds are to be disbursed within 15 days of submitting an application. However, according to Koval, in practice, payments are made much faster.
“As far as I recall, the first payments began to be disbursed just four days after the applications were submitted,” the deputy minister noted.
Funds from the “Schoolchild’s Package” can be used to purchase:
- school supplies;
- textbooks;
- children’s clothing;
- shoes;
- books.
“This card (to which funds are credited—ed.) can be used in regular stores and on Ukrainian online marketplaces. Therefore, the main criterion here is the payment terminal’s special MCC code, which must meet (specified—ed.) criteria,” Koval explained.
This year, there are no restrictions on the timeframe for spending the funds.
“So the main thing is to submit an application by November 1, 2026, and parents can decide when to spend the funds,” said the deputy minister.
Parents and legal guardians of children studying in Ukraine are eligible for the payment.
Applications can be submitted via the “Diya” app in the “Government Assistance” section. Select the “Schoolchild Package” service, after which a special “Child Care” account will be opened at a partner bank.
If there are several first-graders in the family, a separate application must be submitted for each child.
If parents do not have biometric documents or do not use the “Diya” app, they can contact the nearest branch of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
“This can be done anywhere in Ukraine, regardless of the place of official registration or residence. You only need to bring an ID, your tax ID number, and the child’s birth certificate,” Koval emphasized.
In this case, the funds will also be deposited into a card with special usage terms.
Valeria Koval, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, announced this during a television broadcast.
Ukrainian families are already receiving their first payments under the state program “Schoolchild’s Package.” In the first phase of the initiative, the government allocated over 308 million hryvnias to nearly 61,000 families.
As a reminder, Alliance Bank and KredoBank have joined the “National Cashback” government program. Thus, the total number of partner banks in the program has increased to 22.
The total amount of “National Cashback” payments is approximately ₴8 billion.
Ukrainians will begin receiving payments under the “National Cashback” program for April starting July 3, 2026. According to a decision by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, the deadline for using all accrued funds has been extended through July 31.
