Ukrainians were accidentally credited 1,500 hryvnias twice
Ukrainians who accidentally received a duplicate payment of 1,500 hryvnias will not have their accounts frozen or their social benefits canceled. The Pension Fund stated that the issue was caused by a technical glitch and that the situation is now under control.
The Pension Fund also urged people not to rush to return the funds on their own. If the money has already been spent, this will not be grounds for fines or card blocking. The Pension Fund explained that during a review of the one-time payments of 1,500 hryvnias, they discovered isolated cases of duplicate payments. They attributed this to a technical glitch during the calculation of the additional targeted assistance.
The agency emphasizes: there are no widespread issues with payments, and all social benefits are continuing as usual. “No social payments have been canceled due to this situation. The Pension Fund of Ukraine is already finalizing its verification of the accuracy of the payments made,” the PFU reported.
Separately, the agency addressed people who have already noticed “extra” money on their cards. They are asked not to transfer the funds back on their own and not to worry about possible penalties.
The Pension Fund emphasized that the return of erroneously credited funds will occur only officially and in accordance with the law. They promise a case-by-case approach for each situation. “If a person has already used the credited funds, this is not grounds for blocking social payments,” the fund explained.
The Pension Fund adds: if anyone has questions regarding payments or duplicate accruals, they can contact any Pension Fund service center for clarification. In recent days, reports have been actively circulating on social media about alleged account freezes due to duplicate payments. The Pension Fund assures that these rumors are untrue.
Currently, specialists are finalizing a review of all transfers to definitively determine the number of cases involving duplicate payments.
Ukraine is planning a large-scale reform of the special pension system to equalize the rights of career military personnel and those mobilized, as well as to ensure fairness for all defenders.
