Ukreximbank Is Suspending Pension Payments; Changes Will Take Effect in October
Starting October 1, 2026, Ukreximbank will stop servicing accounts into which pensions, subsidies, benefits, and other government social payments are deposited. If the recipient does not choose another bank, the funds will be automatically delivered by Ukrposhta.
At the same time, the Pension Fund recommends that recipients select another authorized banking institution by September 15 and notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) of this decision. If this is not done, payments after October 1 will be delivered via Ukrposhta.
This applies to recipients of pensions, housing subsidies, benefits, and other state social payments. If a person does not switch to another bank, their payments will automatically be transferred to Ukrposhta starting October 1.
Funds will be delivered in cash to the recipient’s residential address as listed with the Pension Fund of Ukraine. No additional action is required to switch to this method of receiving payments if the registered address remains current.
“Ukrposhta” emphasized that receiving money this way does not require an ATM, payment terminal, or banking app. Delivery also does not depend on the availability of electricity or the internet.
“For people who received their pensions or social benefits through Ukreximbank, the main thing is not to worry. If the address registered with the Pension Fund is current, no additional action is required—starting October 1, Ukrposhta will deliver the funds free of charge,” the company noted.
If the recipient actually lives at the address listed with the Pension Fund, no additional action is required. If the place of residence has changed, however, the recipient must contact the nearest Pension Fund service center to update their address and payment method. Ukrposhta also reported that it will provide additional information to customers about the changes at its branches.

New rules for pension eligibility took effect in Ukraine on August 2. In particular, the procedure for submitting documents will be simplified, and certain periods of employment will be counted toward the insurance record even in cases where the employer did not pay the unified social contribution.
The average pension in Ukraine has exceeded 7,200 hryvnias.
