Starting July 1, European Union countries will begin phasing in new rules for processing commercial shipments from outside the EU. As a result, additional fees will apply to some shipments from Ukraine.
The new regulations will apply to Ukrainians who sell goods to EU countries, send product samples, or ship gifts worth more than 45 euros.
According to Smiliansky, if VAT has already been paid on the marketplace, a service fee of 3 euros will be charged for each product code. If VAT has not been paid, Ukrposhta will process it along with the shipment in countries that are already technically ready for the new system. In addition, national logistics and service fees charged by postal operators may apply.
At the same time, Ukrposhta has assured that the company has automated the process of processing and paying the necessary fees. Thanks to this, recipients in EU countries will not have to pay customs duties or additional fees on their own upon the parcel’s arrival.
The company has also completed integration with the international postal system and agreed on new procedures with all 27 EU member states.
