Ukrtransnafta has completed repairs on the Druzhba pipeline and is ready to resume oil transit

JSC "Ukrtransnafta," which is responsible for operating the Ukrainian section of the "Druzhba" oil pipeline, has completed repair work and announced the end of the force majeure situation. 

This was announced by the Hungarian company MOL Plc.

As noted, the Ukrainian side sent an official notification regarding the completion of restoration work to MOL on April 22. The force majeure, which had been in effect since January 27, 2026, was lifted as of 6:00 p.m. on April 21.

“JSC ‘Ukrtransnafta,’ the company responsible for operating the Ukrainian section of the ‘Druzhba’ oil pipeline, officially notified MOL of the completion of repair work on the ‘Druzhba’ oil pipeline, as well as the termination of the force majeure circumstances that had been in effect since January 27, 2026, as of 6:00 p.m. on April 21, 2026. According to the statement, JSC “Ukrtransnafta” is ready to resume oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia,” MOL reported.

Thus, the Ukrainian side has declared its technical readiness to resume oil transit to Central European countries following the completion of repair work on the main pipeline.

Earlier, European Council President António Costa expressed gratitude to Ukraine for restoring operations on the Druzhba oil pipeline, which had been damaged as a result of Russian attacks.

The European Commission expects President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to officially announce the resumption of oil pumping through Ukraine via the Druzhba pipeline in the near future.
