In the Rivne region, Boris the star reindeer was found after going missing
In the Rivne region, Boris the deer—who had previously been presumed missing after being hit by a car—has been found. The animal had not been seen for several weeks, but it is now known that he is alive and gradually recovering.
This was reported by local residents and the animal’s caretaker, forest protection engineer Ruslan Khrystiuk.
According to forest protection engineer Ruslan Khrystiuk, the deer has lost weight but remains alive and is getting enough food in its natural habitat.
“People have tormented Borik so much that he’s hiding from everyone. He doesn’t want to see or hear anyone, not even me. He has a food source in the swamp. There are no predators here… He’s lost weight, but that’s necessary. Although his muscle mass is low, he can’t put much weight on his leg. But he’s alive and well. Boris is here; I haven’t forgotten about him, and I won’t let him die,” Khrystiuk said.
According to him, the animal had a broken leg, and it is still trying to stand on it.
Local resident Irina Tokmina notes that Boris used to periodically disappear into the forest for long periods of time.
“And here, 20 days, and already ‘the wolves ate him.’ They didn’t eat anyone; it’s a myth that wolves are a great danger to deer. Our Boris knows what’s best for him, so he went as far into the forest as possible to get away from people,” she says.
Currently, the animal remains in its natural habitat, and experts are monitoring its condition and recovery process.
It was previously reported that Boris the deer was alive but had lost a lot of blood. The animal has a head injury and a broken hind leg, making it difficult for him to move. Efforts are currently underway to find treatment for Boris.
Boris the deer, who became famous on social media and lived among people in Zarichne, Rivne Oblast, was in serious condition following a traffic accident.
