Ukraine will participate in the NATO summit in Turkey, says Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine will be represented at the NATO summit, which will take place on July 7–8 in Ankara.

He made this statement during a joint press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu in Kyiv.

“Regarding the NATO summit: Ukraine will be represented at the NATO summit in Turkey. As for how, in what format, and by whom, it is too early to say,” Zelenskyy noted.

The head of state clarified that preparations for the event are currently underway, so details regarding the level of Ukraine’s representation and the composition of the delegation are not yet being disclosed.

The NATO summit in Turkey is expected to serve as an important platform for discussing security issues, particularly support for Ukraine amid the war.

Recently, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi met with representatives of NATO and the EU. He described the situation on the front lines and outlined the Ukrainian army’s key needs. Among the top priorities is strengthening air defense.

Ukraine must receive not vague promises, but a clear and understandable path to NATO membership along with real security guarantees. This position was voiced by former Polish President Andrzej Duda, who emphasized that this is not about political slogans, but about a strategic necessity for all of Europe. According to him, Ukraine’s security is directly linked to the security of the entire transatlantic region.
