Ukrzaliznytsia has added new passenger cars
JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” has added three more new passenger cars to its fleet. In total, the company has received 21 new cars since the beginning of 2026.
The new cars have already been added to the popular international trains between Kholm and Kyiv and between Kholm and Dnipro, which Ukrainians will use in late summer to return home before the start of the new school year.
Ukrzaliznytsia noted that the new cars are equipped with modern air-conditioning systems that operate even during extended stops thanks to high-capacity batteries.
For passenger comfort, the following features are also provided:
- multi-level lighting;
- convenient overhead shelves with tables;
- individual power outlets and USB ports for charging gadgets;
- changing tables in restrooms.
The company emphasized that the creation of the new railcars was the result of collaboration among more than 150 Ukrainian manufacturers and suppliers.
Since the beginning of the year, Ukrzaliznytsia has already received 21 new passenger cars.
In total, the state program calls for the delivery of 100 new passenger cars, including compartment cars, accessible cars, and new-generation cars with a service life extended by 20 years.
The entire batch will be delivered in phases and will continue through May 2028.
This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.
As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia signed a contract with PJSC “Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works” for the manufacture of 92 new passenger cars. Of the ordered rolling stock, 83 units are compartment cars capable of operating in both compartment and SV configurations, while the remaining nine will be equipped with barrier-free compartments. Deliveries under this contract will take place between 2027 and 2028.
Ukrzaliznytsia has changed the route of three trains passing through Stryi.
During the summer travel season, Ukrzaliznytsia passengers began leaving their personal belongings in the cars more frequently. The number of reports regarding lost property exceeded 100 cases per day.
