Ukrzaliznytsia Will Raise Salaries for More Than 150,000 Employees
Starting September 1, the salaries of more than 150,000 Ukrzaliznytsia employees will increase by 10–15%. The largest raises are earmarked for employees in shortage occupations.
The additional funds will primarily be allocated to pay workers who repair locomotives and railcars, restore infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks, and ensure train operations.
According to Mykola Kalashnyk, Minister of Recovery, Infrastructure, and Transport, the decision to raise salaries was discussed with railway workers, Ukrzaliznytsia management, the supervisory board, and members of parliament.
The additional funding for the pay raises came, in particular, from the indexation of freight rates. The next phase of their revision is scheduled for January 1, 2027, which should allow for further pay raises next year.
