Ukrzaliznytsia is launching additional summer services and increasing train frequency

Ukrzaliznytsia is adding extra trains and making seven popular routes daily services to meet increased demand during the summer season.

The company announced this on Facebook.

 

It is noted that since the start of the summer season, Ukrzaliznytsia has observed a shift in passenger traffic.

“In particular, the company is reducing the number of cars on trains on routes with lower demand and redeploying them to routes with the highest demand. This allows us, given the shortage of rolling stock, to schedule additional trains and increase the number of cars on the most popular routes,” the statement reads.

In the near future, seven trains will be switched to daily service:

  • No. 4/3 Uzhhorod – Dnipro
  • No. 86/85 Lviv – Zaporizhzhia
  • No. 128/127 Lviv – Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia
  • No. 78/77 Kovel – Odesa
  • No. 88/87 Kovel – Dnipro
  • No. 7/8 Kharkiv – Odesa
  • No. 121/122 Mykolaiv – Kyiv

Ukrzaliznytsia is also resuming service on train No. 143/144 Sumy – Rakhiv, which will connect Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Sivershchyna with the western part of the country and provide direct service between Sumy, Bilopillya, and Konotop with Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Yaremche, and Vorokhta.

In addition, to meet increased demand between the capital and Bukovina, an additional train No. 227/228 Kyiv–Chernivtsi has been scheduled. It will run every other day via Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Kolomyia. The train will consist of open-sleeper, compartment, and SV-class cars.

Ticket sales will open according to the trains’ schedules. The advance booking period varies by route and ranges from 20 to 5 days before departure. Tickets can be purchased via the Ukrzaliznytsia app, on the official website, and at station ticket offices.
