A long-haul truck driver attempted to rape a 13-year-old girl
According to police, a 46-year-old truck driver offered to give the child a ride, and during the trip attempted to sexually assault her.
The girl managed to escape and hide in the woods. She then called her mother, who contacted law enforcement.
Operation “Interception” was launched to search for the suspect. The MAN truck was stopped in the Lviv region, and the driver was detained.
Investigators opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted rape of a person under the age of 14). The penalty under this article provides for up to 15 years in prison. The investigation is currently ongoing.
