The government has approved the construction of a plant to manufacture fuel assemblies for nuclear power plants

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the construction of a plant in Ukraine to manufacture fuel assemblies for nuclear power plants in Pivdennoukrainsk.

This was reported by the government portal.

The project involves the creation of a nuclear facility to produce fuel for nuclear power plant reactors, which is expected to be an important step toward Ukraine’s energy independence.

Energoatom called this decision strategic and one that opens a new stage in the development of nuclear energy.

It is noted that production will be based on technologies from the American company Westinghouse, which will improve the security of fuel supply for Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

The project has already received support from the local community, and the next step will be the development of documentation and undergoing a state review.

Fuel assemblies are key components of nuclear reactors and ensure the production of thermal energy at nuclear power plants.
