The Cabinet of Ministers is expanding the “Affordable Loans 5-7-9%” program and launching a new support mechanism for businesses whose property has been damaged or destroyed as a result of Russian attacks.
According to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, starting July 1, small and medium-sized businesses will be able to receive preferential loans to restore production facilities, warehouses, offices, and other property.
The maximum amount of financing will be up to 150 million UAH. For the first two years, the loan interest rate will be only 0.1% per annum. Subsequently, it will increase to 5%, 7%, or 9%, depending on the size of the enterprise and the number of jobs created.
The government emphasized that such loans will not be counted toward the overall limit on state support for companies that are simultaneously participating in multiple aid programs.
The program is part of the “Made in Ukraine” state policy. In addition to loans, businesses can also take advantage of grants of up to 16 million UAH for equipment purchases, a program to compensate employees’ salaries during downtime, and mechanisms to insure against war risks.
Ukraine lacks sufficient state budget funds and international aid to quickly provide housing for all citizens who have lost their homes due to the war. In this regard, the Verkhovna Rada is proposing to allocate additional funding from local budgets to expand the “eRecovery” program and accelerate payments to those affected.
In the Kyiv region, an official was detained for extorting half of the compensation under the “eRecovery” program.
