In Odessa, a government official overpaid more than 2 million hryvnias for school blackboards
A former official of a district municipal agency in Odesa has been notified of charges related to the purchase of multimedia equipment for educational institutions at inflated prices. The woman is accused of official negligence that caused serious consequences for the local community.
According to the investigation, in May 2024, the suspect was responsible for public procurement; she set the price and organized the purchase of television and audiovisual equipment for schools in one of the city’s districts.
She posted an announcement in the electronic system for an open tender to purchase 106 multimedia systems, which included interactive whiteboards and multimedia projectors. Following the tender results, a municipal institution of the Odesa City Council and a company entered into a supply contract with a total value of over 6.8 million UAH. At the same time, it was established that the purchase was made at prices that did not correspond to market levels, resulting in over 2 million UAH in damages to the community.
