In Odessa, an FSB agent recruited at Medvedchuk’s office was plotting an assassination attempt on a Special Operations Forces officer

In Odesa, SBU officers detained a woman who, according to the investigation, was working for the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and had installed a GPS tracker on the car of a Special Operations Forces officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to help orchestrate his murder.

This was reported by the SBU.

According to the SBU, the suspect is a former resident of the Kirovohrad region who lived in Russia for about 15 years. She was recruited after contacting the Moscow office of Viktor Medvedchuk’s political project “Drugaia Ukraina,” where she sought legal assistance in a theft case. After that, according to the investigation, she was handed over to FSB officers, who offered her cooperation in exchange for closing the case.

The woman arrived in Odesa, rented an apartment in the same building as a Ukrainian military officer, and, using funds from her Russian handlers, purchased a vehicle for surveillance. She installed a GPS tracker under the hood of the officer’s car, which had been provided to her before her departure for Ukraine.

According to the SBU, the Russian intelligence service planned to use the tracker’s data to monitor the soldier’s routes and choose a convenient moment to eliminate him.

After installing the device, the suspect attempted to flee Ukraine via third countries but was detained by SBU officers.

During a search, her phone was seized; she had used it to coordinate actions with an FSB handler, disguising the correspondence as personal messages.

The woman has been notified of charges of treason under martial law. The indictment has already been sent to court. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Earlier, the Security Service’s Counterintelligence Directorate detained a Russian spotter involved in the large-scale shelling of Kharkiv on April 2. The suspect guided new Russian “Geran-3” kamikaze drones toward the city in real time.

As a reminder, an FSB agent who was coordinating Russian attacks on energy facilities was exposed and detained in the Vinnytsia region. The woman was gathering information on power generation facilities and transmitting coordinates to the enemy.

Earlier, the SBU and the National Police thwarted another attempt by Russian special services to destabilize the situation in Kyiv. This time, an FSB agent was detained in the center of the capital while preparing to set fire to the building of the Institute of National Remembrance of Ukraine.

A Russian agent operating in the Kirovohrad region was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. Acting on orders from the Russian Federation, the perpetrator attempted to install a GPS tracker on a special vehicle accompanying convoys of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
