The Office of the President has responded to the proposal for a meeting between Zelenskyy and Madyar in Berehove

Dmytro Lytvyn, an adviser to the President of Ukraine, commented on the initiative by Hungary’s future Prime Minister Péter Magyar regarding a possible meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in early June in Berehove.

Lytvyn spoke about this in comments to journalists.

Lytvyn noted that the president’s schedule for June has not yet been finalized.

“The president has not yet finalized his schedule for June,” he said.

The presidential adviser also added that matters regarding bilateral meetings are typically coordinated through the relevant diplomatic channels.

“Bilateral meetings are coordinated through bilateral contacts,” Lytvyn emphasized.

Earlier, after meeting with the mayor of Berehove, Péter Magyar announced his intention to organize talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Berehove and raised the issue of the rights of the Hungarian minority in Ukraine.

During a meeting with Péter Magyar, the winner of Hungary’s parliamentary elections, Berehove Mayor Zoltán Babiak stated that there is no evidence of any infringement of the rights of the Hungarian national community in Ukraine.

Earlier, Péter Mádár, leader of the Hungarian party “Tisa,” initiated a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and proposed holding it in the city of Berehove in Zakarpattia.
