On April 22, Ukraine is expected to see frosts at night and cool temperatures during the day
On Wednesday, April 22, windy and cool weather is expected in Ukraine, with no significant precipitation.
This is reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
Forecasters note that cold air will continue to flow in from northern Europe, so frosts are expected overnight in most regions. At the same time, during the day, thanks to mostly clear skies, the air will warm up slightly.
“On April 22, cold air will continue to flow into Ukraine from northern Europe, so frosts are expected at night in most regions; however, during the day, with mostly clear skies, the air will warm up. In the high-pressure area, dry weather will prevail; only in the eastern regions will an atmospheric front bring rain,” the report states.
According to the forecast, variable cloudiness is expected across the country. No precipitation is expected, though moderate rain is possible in the eastern regions, and light rain and wet snow are expected in the Carpathians during the day.
The wind will be northwesterly, 5–10 m/s.
Nighttime temperatures will range from 0–3° below freezing, and in the southern regions from +1…+6°. Ground frosts of 0–3° are also possible. During the day, temperatures will rise to +8…+13°, and in the Carpathians to +3…+8°.
In Kyiv and the surrounding region, variable cloudiness without precipitation is forecast. Overnight, the air temperature will be +1…+3°C, with ground frosts of 0–2°C possible. During the day, temperatures are expected to reach +10…+12°C, and up to +13°C in the region.
Cool weather will persist in Ukraine through the end of April due to the dominance of northern air masses.
As a reminder, Monday, April 20, 2026, brought a noticeable drop in temperature and rainy weather to Ukraine.
After a cold winter, Ukrainians are looking forward to spring warmth, but April will bring not only sunshine but also weather “swings.”
