Rain and frosts as low as -3° are expected in Ukraine on April 30
Cold and unsettled weather will persist in Ukraine on Wednesday, April 30. Frosts are expected in some regions overnight, and brief showers will occur in some areas during the day.
This is reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
According to forecasters, weather conditions will be shaped by a high-pressure system spreading from Western Europe under the influence of a powerful anticyclone over the North Sea. At the same time, cold air masses will persist in the upper layers of the atmosphere, preventing warming.
Variable cloudiness is forecast throughout the country over the next 24 hours. Light rain is possible at night in the far south and east, and during the day in most regions, with the exception of the western and parts of the southern regions. The wind will be northwesterly, moderate in speed.
Temperatures will remain low. In the north and center, nighttime lows will drop to -3°, while daytime highs will reach +8…+10°. In the western regions, frosts down to -3° are also expected at night, with daytime highs of +10…+13°.
In the east, temperatures will be slightly milder: 0…-2° at night and +8…+12° during the day. As usual, it will be warmest in the south—+5…+7° at night and +11…+13° during the day.
Light rain is forecast for Kyiv on April 30. The air temperature at night will be +1…+3°, and during the day — +8…+10°.
Forecasters emphasize that people should be especially careful in the evening and at night due to the risk of frost, which could affect plants and early crops.
On Wednesday, April 29, Ukraine experienced unstable weather—no precipitation at night but with frost, and light rain during the day. The maximum air temperature will rise to +14°.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center released a forecast for the second month of spring, according to which temperatures and precipitation will remain within the climatic norm.
After a cold winter, Ukrainians are looking forward to spring warmth, but April will bring not only sunshine but also weather “swings.”
