Ukraine has updated the "Screening 40+" program—here's what's changed
The Cabinet of Ministers has made changes to the “Screening 40+” program. Specifically, the time limit for using funds to undergo screening has been extended, and applications can now be submitted without being tied to a specific date.
This was reported with reference to a post by "Dii."
It is noted that Ukrainians no longer need to wait 30 days after their birthday.
"If you are already 40 years old, you can submit an application yourself in just a few clicks via 'Dii' or visit the nearest Administrative Services Center—without being tied to a specific date," the statement says.
Additionally, after the funds are credited, Ukrainians will have two months to undergo the examination. If this is not done, the money will be returned to the budget.
"After the funds are credited, you have two months to use the service at the selected medical facility. If you do not do so within this time, the funds will automatically be returned to the state budget," explained "Diy."
What is "Health Screening 40+"?
"Health Screening 40+" is a national program for the early detection of chronic diseases. Basic screenings help:
- detect disease risks in a timely manner;
- monitor your health;
- prevent complications.
The program is free for Ukrainians and fully covered by the state.
In Ukraine, more than 1,600 medical facilities already offer proactive preventive screenings to citizens aged 40 and older. Similar initiatives have been successfully operating for many years in Poland, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania, allowing diseases to be detected in their early stages without waiting for symptoms to appear.
