A violin dating from 1763 was seized at the Ukrainian border; it was intended to be taken to the Netherlands
At the Nizhankovychi border crossing, border guards discovered a Georg Kloz violin, made in 1763, while inspecting a vehicle leaving Ukraine.
This was reported by the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service – Western Border.
During an inspection of a Hyundai vehicle heading to the Netherlands, the valuable musical instrument was found in the trunk. It was discovered by a 39-year-old woman who was transporting the violin abroad.

The instrument was seized and will be sent for examination to confirm its authenticity and determine its cultural significance.
Earlier, Ukrainian customs officials foiled an attempt to illegally export antiques abroad. During an inspection of a passenger’s belongings, they discovered over 200 coins dating from the 16th to 18th centuries.
