Ukraine has simplified the import of components for weapons production
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced a significant simplification of customs clearance procedures for the import of foreign components by domestic manufacturers of weapons and military equipment.
The relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is intended to minimize bureaucratic obstacles during the import of critically important products.
The new measures will allow domestic defense industry enterprises to obtain the necessary foreign parts for equipment assembly much more quickly.
As part of the reform, the government has abolished the mandatory requirement to submit some of the supporting documents separately, as from now on all necessary data will be recorded directly in the customs declaration.
In addition, Ukrainian businesses are now permitted to submit classified documents and additional information even before the official filing of the declaration.
The rule requiring businesses to send copies of contracts and technical specifications to customs officials three days prior to the arrival of goods has also been completely eliminated.
The main goal of the adopted changes is to accelerate logistics processes as much as possible and optimize the delivery of finished weapons to units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The relevant ministry expects that reducing paperwork at the border will allow for the needs of the front lines to be met significantly faster.
Eliminating time delays during the import of components will directly impact the pace of Ukrainian weapons production.
