Ukraine has begun accepting applications to universities

On July 19, Ukraine began accepting applications for bachelor’s degree programs. Applicants can submit their documents through the online applicant portal until 6:00 p.m. on August 1.

This year, applicants may submit up to 10 applications, no more than five of which may be for state-funded programs. Once submitted, the order of priority for the applications cannot be changed, so applicants are advised to carefully set their priorities.

For admission to state-funded programs, the minimum competitive score depends on the chosen major. For law, international relations, medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, medical psychology, and a number of other fields, it is 150 points; for pharmacy, 140 points; and for most other majors, 130 points. For admission to a self-funded program, 100 NMT points are usually sufficient, unless the educational institution has set a higher threshold.

The competitive score is determined using a special formula that takes into account the NMT results, subject weighting coefficients, as well as regional and sectoral coefficients.

Applicants who are eligible for preferential treatment or quotas must confirm their status before submitting their first application so that the relevant information can be entered into the Unified State Electronic Admission System (USEA).

Key stages of the admissions campaign:

  • by August 6 — publication of admission recommendations;
  • by August 11 (6:00 p.m.) — confirmation of enrollment;
  • by August 13 — completion of enrollment for state-funded and contract-based spots based on priority applications.

Applicants were also reminded of an important rule: If an applicant arrives late at the testing center, they will not be allowed to take the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT). Therefore, organizers urge applicants to arrive early so they can complete all necessary procedures without rushing before the test begins. This was reported by the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA).

Participants in the main sessions of the National Multidisciplinary Test can now view their official results in their personal accounts.
