14 forest fires were reported in Ukraine over the past 24 hours
Over the past 24 hours, 14 forest fires have broken out in Ukraine, covering a total area of 12.3 hectares. Four of the fires were caused by Russian drone attacks, and another six were the result of arson. Due to the hot and dry weather, the country has declared the highest level of fire danger.
Over the past 24 hours, 14 forest fires have broken out in Ukraine, covering an estimated area of 12.3 hectares. Despite the heat and shelling, forest fires are being quickly extinguished, according to the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine.”
Four fires were caused by enemy drones striking in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv regions. Another six fires covering 3.39 hectares broke out simultaneously in the Kyiv region, in the Sukholisky Forest District, according to the enterprise’s statement.
According to preliminary data, the aforementioned fires were caused by arson. Meanwhile, the highest level of fire danger has been declared nationwide.
The remaining fires were caused by human error. In particular, fires broke out in the Cherkasy region due to careless handling of fire, affecting an area of 0.36 hectares. The fire also engulfed 6 hectares of forest in Lviv Oblast. The causes of this fire are being investigated, according to “Forests of Ukraine.”
Meanwhile, according to forecasts by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, an extreme fire danger level will persist in Ukraine over the next three days. During the daytime, air temperatures across nearly the entire country will reach 35–38 °C.
Ukrainians have been urged to refrain from visiting forested areas in the near future.

As a reminder, French passengers who purchased train tickets to the region around Bordeaux will be able to exchange or refund them free of charge. This decision was made due to the large-scale wildfires that have complicated the situation in the area.
Ukraine has sent a combined detachment of State Emergency Service (SES) rescuers to France to assist in fighting the massive wildfires that have engulfed certain regions of the country. Ukrainian specialists will assist French emergency services in extinguishing the fires and conducting rescue operations.
