Zelenskyy Expects NSDC Secretary Klymenko to Step Up Preparations for Winter
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced the new Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Ihor Klymenko, and stated that he expects him to strengthen the coordination role of the security and defense sector. The official’s key tasks will include preparing the country for the winter, localizing weapons production, and countering Russian cyberattacks and disinformation.
According to the head of state, the NSDC Secretary must ensure prompt and coordinated cooperation between the government, the Office of the President, the military, and the intelligence services. Ihor Klymenko himself confirmed that he will focus primarily on implementing plans to ensure the country’s resilience ahead of winter and on strengthening information security.
