Four supermarket chains are closing in Ukraine at once
The "Arsen" supermarket chain has officially announced the complete closure of all its stores in Ukraine.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Council of Shopping Centers.
In addition to this brand, popular chains such as "Fresh," "Soyuz," and "Kvartal" are also winding down their operations in various regions of the country, as confirmed by the Ukrainian Council of Shopping Centers.
Company management explained this move by citing a shift in strategic priorities and an intention to focus on other areas of business.
“We have made a strategic decision to plan the closure of our retail business: the Arsen, Fresh, Soyuz, and Kvartal chains. This difficult decision was made based on a thorough analysis and our personal desire to focus on new projects in the field of development and social initiatives,” the press service stated.
Despite the mass closure of stores, the company assures that it is “in a completely stable financial condition.”
The business owners emphasize that they have sufficient resources to fully meet all financial obligations to their employees, contractors, and suppliers.
A clear deadline for the end of operations has been set—all sales floors of the aforementioned chains will remain open to visitors only until May 31, 2026.
After this date, the retail locations’ operations will be permanently suspended, and the premises will be prepared for transfer to new tenants.
It is expected that other major players in the domestic retail market will move into the vacated locations.
According to preliminary information from market sources, Novus or Silpo stores may open in the former supermarket locations, although there is currently no official confirmation from these companies.
