Ukraine to Celebrate Unmanned Systems Day, According to a Presidential Decree
June 11 may be officially designated as Unmanned Systems Forces Day in Ukraine. A draft decree to that effect has been prepared by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Ukraine became the first country in the world to establish the Unmanned Systems Forces as a separate branch of the military, and their activities have already had a significant impact on modern military strategy.
“Ukraine was the first country in the world to establish the Unmanned Systems Forces as a separate branch of the military. The USF were the first in the world to demonstrate how non-linear approaches can defeat a nuclear empire,” Svyrydenko noted.
The head of government announced that, according to a draft presidential decree, June 11 will become the official Day of the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine.
According to her, it will be a day for servicemen and specialists who work daily with modern unmanned technologies on the front lines and behind enemy lines.
“A celebration of those who changed the rules of the game. Those who overturned the old military theories. A day for those who conduct reconnaissance, analyze, develop, plan, carry out missions, launch, and strike. Those who ensure unique operations with UAVs and UAS, on the front lines and behind enemy lines—destroying equipment, logistics, and command centers, and delivering our long-range strikes more than a thousand kilometers deep into enemy territory,” Svyrydenko emphasized.
Unmanned systems forces have become one of the key elements of Ukraine’s modern defense, enabling reconnaissance, fire correction, strikes against enemy military targets, and the execution of special operations at great distances from the front line.
The use of unmanned aerial vehicles and ground-based robotic systems allows the Ukrainian military to effectively destroy enemy equipment, logistics hubs, warehouses, and command posts while saving the lives of personnel.
It is expected that following the signing of the decree on June 11, this date will officially become a professional holiday for servicemen of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces.
This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram.
