The Verkhovna Rada has ratified a €230 million agreement with the EIB

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has officially endorsed the ratification of a financial agreement with the European Investment Bank, which provides for the allocation of 230 million euros for the restoration of road infrastructure.

This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Community Recovery and Development Oleksiy Kuleba, who outlined the key priorities for the use of the funds.

A significant portion of the funding will be directed toward modernizing access roads to border crossing points in the Lviv region and restoring critical highways in the Odesa region.

“The funds will be directed toward restoring access roads to border crossing points in Lviv Oblast, restoring road infrastructure in Odesa Oblast, and implementing projects that ensure stable logistics and exports,” the official noted.

Implementation of the initiative will begin shortly as part of the large-scale “Roads of Solidarity” program, which aims to strengthen transport links with Europe.

The first tranche that Ukraine will receive under this agreement will amount to 134 million euros and will be distributed among the busiest logistics routes.

The project will pay special attention to strategically important international routes, such as Kyiv–Chop (M-06) and Kyiv–Kovel–Yagodin (M-07).

The list of priority routes also includes Lviv–Shehyni (M-11) and Odesa–Reni (M-15), which are key arteries for Ukrainian exports.

In addition to restoring major corridors, the government emphasizes the critical need to repair roads directly in frontline regions.

According to preliminary estimates by the relevant ministry, at least 4,000 kilometers of roads in these areas require immediate restoration and significant structural reinforcement.
