Explosion of a training grenade in a school: police send administrative materials to court against a woman whose daughter brought a dangerous object to an educational institution
An emergency situation occurred in the Oknianske basic educational institution in Podil district when a nine-year-old student brought a training grenade to school to show off to her friends. During the game, one of the students accidentally pulled the grenade's safety ring, which led to an explosion. Fortunately, the boy received only light scratches and did not need medical attention. The reason for the incident was that the girl had received a grenade from a relative, and her parents did not realize that the child had a dangerous object in her bag.

The police initiated administrative proceedings against the girl's mother, and drew up materials under Article 184 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which concerns the failure of parents to fulfill their child-rearing responsibilities. This offense is punishable by a warning or a fine. The police called on parents to be attentive to their children, pay attention to their surroundings and explain to them the danger posed by unfamiliar objects.
This incident served as a reminder of the danger that seemingly innocent toys can pose and emphasized the importance of parental responsibility in raising children. The police hope that such incidents will not happen again and that parents will become more attentive to their children.
