Video: In the Odesa region, a man assaulted a soldier after being reprimanded for playing Russian music
A conflict broke out at a resort in the village of Zatoka, Odesa Oblast, during which a man assaulted a servicemember after the latter made a comment about Russian music. The police have opened a criminal investigation into the assault.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement, a conflict arose between the servicemember and another vacationer, during which the assailant struck the victim on the head with a metal object. The servicemember was hospitalized. The case was opened under Part 1 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional bodily injury of moderate severity).
According to the wife of soldier Serhiy Pigura, the conflict began after her husband asked the other person to turn off Russian music. She claims that following a verbal altercation, the man first struck the soldier with an electric heater and then with a metal rebar. The victim suffered a concussion, fractures to his arm and nose, and a head injury.
Serhiy Pigura is currently hospitalized. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident, and a pre-trial investigation is underway.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the attack on servicemen at the Territorial Recruitment Center in Lviv. The head of state stated that such treatment of people in military uniform is unacceptable, and that all circumstances of the incident must be thoroughly investigated.
In Lviv, two participants in the altercation who damaged the Territorial Recruitment Center’s official vehicle publicly apologized to the military personnel after speaking with veterans.
