Video: A car chase involving gunfire took place in Lutsk in pursuit of a person who failed to comply with military registration requirements
In Lutsk, patrol officers detained the driver of a Skoda who, after being pulled over, refused to comply with the officers’ orders and attempted to flee.
During the chase, the man created hazardous situations and endangered other road users.
The incident occurred in the evening on Hlushets Street. After being pulled over, the driver failed to produce his documents, locked himself in the car, and then suddenly sped off. The patrol officers began the pursuit and repeatedly ordered him to stop, but the man ignored them.
To stop the dangerous escape, one of the officers fired a single shot from his service weapon at the car’s front wheel. The driver then stopped. No one was injured as a result of the use of the weapon.
The man was detained. During the investigation, it was also determined that he had violated military registration regulations.
Administrative charges were filed against the driver for a number of violations, including failure to stop when ordered, creating a hazardous situation, running a red light, violating traffic markings, and willful disobedience of a lawful police order.
Law enforcement officers also issued a report of administrative detention. Investigators are currently determining all the circumstances of the incident and assessing the driver’s actions from a legal standpoint.

Following this, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, reported planned disinformation campaigns against the Ombudsman’s Office and himself personally after violations were uncovered during inspections of transit centers and joint ventures in Zakarpattia Oblast. According to him, instead of addressing the violations, “activists” began a coordinated effort to discredit the results of the monitoring visits.
