Video: In occupied Yalta, people have started setting up outdoor kitchens due to power outages
In occupied Yalta, due to problems with the power supply, the local administration has begun setting up cooking areas in the courtyards of high-rise buildings. According to representatives of the so-called city government appointed by Russia, these “courtyard kitchens” are being set up near buildings that do not have gas service.
Serhiy Olefirenko, first deputy head of the Yalta administration, stated that it is impossible to cover all buildings in a short period of time.
“It’s impossible to cover more than 1,500 buildings in a day, but the work has already begun,” he said.
The administration also stated that it is negotiating with local business owners to have them prepare lunches for city residents at cost.
Power supply issues in Crimea continue amid reports of damage to energy infrastructure. Due to prolonged outages in various parts of the peninsula, local residents have also reported disruptions in the water supply.
As a reminder, residents of occupied Crimea were buying gasoline, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces covered the costs.
Russia has allowed the use of lower-quality gasoline due to the fuel crisis.
