Zelenskyy has reshuffled the leadership of the SBU in nine regions of Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy carried out sweeping personnel changes within the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). He dismissed nine heads of regional SBU departments and appointed new leaders to replace them.

The changes affected, in particular, the Lviv, Chernivtsi, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Ternopil, and Mykolaiv regions, as well as the SBU’s Main Directorate in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees dismissing and appointing the heads of the Security Service of Ukraine’s regional directorates. Specifically, the following were dismissed from their posts: Vadym Onyshchenko, head of the SBU Directorate in Lviv Oblast; Mykhailo Petrov, head of the Directorate in Chernivtsi Oblast; Konstantin Semenyuk, head of the SBU in Poltava Oblast, and Oleg Krasnoshapka, head of the SBU in Sumy Oblast, were dismissed from their posts.

Also leaving their posts were Yuriy Pogasiy, head of the SBU Office in Cherkasy Oblast; Vasyl Demyanchuk, head of the SBU in Ternopil Oblast; Mykola Lysenko, head of the regional office in the Mykolaiv region; Oleksandr Vlasenko, head of the SBU Main Directorate in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea; and Tamara Pashkovska, head of the SBU Personnel Department.

Following this, the president appointed new heads in a number of regions. Oleg Shvorak was appointed head of the SBU Directorate in the Chernivtsi region; Kostyantyn Semenyuk in the Sumy region; Vitaliy Mryga in the Poltava region; and Andriy Lytvyn in the Cherkasy region.

Yaroslav Pylyp was appointed head of the SBU Directorate in Lviv Oblast; Oleg Krasnoshapka in Ternopil Oblast; and Oleksiy Goloborodko in Mykolaiv Oblast. Additionally, Oleksandr Sudyk became the new head of the SBU Directorate in Zhytomyr Oblast, and Oleksandr Prykhodion was appointed head of the SBU Main Directorate in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The president signed the decrees on dismissals and appointments on July 30, 2026. The documents do not specify the reasons for these personnel changes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Timur Tkachenko as head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. The head of state signed the corresponding decree on July 30. In this position, Tkachenko replaced Mykola Kalashnyk, who moved to work in the government.
