Video: Zelenskyy met with India's foreign minister and thanked the country for its support of peace
Zelenskyy held a meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar. They focused significant attention on ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“We are grateful to India for its desire to end this unjust war—Russia’s war against Ukraine. This is certainly not a time for war. Peace is needed. This is India’s clear position. Today, while the minister was visiting us in Kyiv, Russia once again launched “Shahed” drones, which were developed with Iran’s assistance. Thanks to our combat aviation, the delegation was safe, because it is Ukrainian fighter jets that shoot down most of these drones. We hope that other powerful nations of the world will also take a clear stance that this war must end and that a lasting peace is needed,” the President of Ukraine stated.
The head of state noted that they discussed the situation in the Black Sea, particularly the existing threats to civilian shipping.
This was reported by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
As a reminder, India does not plan to stop importing Russian oil due to the war in Ukraine.
