A businessman has been caught stealing nearly 7 million hryvnias from a glove supply contract with Ukrnafta

A representative of the supplier company has been notified of suspicion of aiding and abetting the embezzlement of funds during the supply of work gloves for an oil production company. The investigation established that the suspect acted as a coordinator between the supplier and the customer, although he was not an official of the company. 

This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office. 

Under an agreement signed in 2024, the company received products that did not meet technical and quality specifications. Despite the violations of standards, the goods were documented with acceptance and transfer certificates and paid for in full. As a result of the transfer of 6.8 million UAH for substandard gloves, PJSC “Ukrnafta” suffered material losses in the amount specified. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the offense.

Earlier, Kyiv police investigators completed a pre-trial investigation and referred the case involving the head of a department at Kyivteploenergo to court. 

As a reminder, employees of Kyivzelenbud embezzled nearly 5 million hryvnias while fighting ragweed.

Additionally, 750,000 hryvnias were embezzled during the renovation of a sports school in Kyiv.
