Weapons production in Ukraine may surpass Russia's capabilities

Ukraine has reached a level of arms production that could eventually surpass Russia’s capabilities, the General Staff announced on July 3. This refers to high-tech weapons, primarily drones, missile systems, and electronic warfare equipment. Officials emphasize that the key task now is to scale up production and ensure stable funding for the industry.

At the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters on July 3, the main focus was on the development of Ukraine’s defense industry and its growth rate, which has increased significantly in recent months. According to the president, this is not just about increasing production volumes, but about building long-term capacity that must operate systematically and independently of external factors.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is already capable of producing such a volume of modern weapons that, in the long term, could exceed Russia’s capabilities if the pace is maintained and the state continues to support manufacturers. “We discussed with manufacturers what is needed from the state—in terms of decisions and funding—to maximize all types of Ukrainian capabilities and ensure sustained pressure on Russia, its capabilities on the front lines, and its ability to prolong the war,” the president said.

According to meeting participants, the focus remains primarily on unmanned systems of all types, ground-based robotic systems, missile programs, electronic warfare systems, and other military equipment that defines the modern nature of warfare.

It was specifically emphasized that this discussion was a continuation of previous decisions developed at the level of the National Security and Defense Council, the Ministry of Defense, and parliament. Government officials stress that the key task is not only to produce more but also to build a system that will allow Ukraine to maintain a long-term technological advantage in specific segments. President Zelenskyy announced this.

Ukrainians have begun receiving payments for April under the “National Cashback” program. More than 5 million citizens will receive these payments.
