In the Rivne region, law enforcement officers detained a 39-year-old woman suspected of attempting to sell her three children. According to investigators, the children were to be used for forced begging and drug dealing. If the woman is found guilty in court, she faces up to 15 years in prison.
According to law enforcement, the woman agreed to hand over her children—two sons, ages 9 and 14, and an 11-year-old daughter—to an acquaintance. There, they were to beg and sell drugs.
On June 24, in the village of Klevan, the woman handed over her children and received 30,000 hryvnias; she was to receive the same amount upon their return. However, she was detained by law enforcement immediately after receiving the money.
During the pre-trial investigation, police determined that the woman had been selling drugs and had involved her own daughter in the activity. Police also report that the woman, along with her acquaintances, used illegal substances in the presence of the children.
During a search of the detainee’s residence, police seized glass flasks, light bulbs with residue, and a small bag containing a crystalline substance that appeared to be a narcotic. Searches were also conducted at the homes of the individuals from whom the woman purchased drugs.

Police are investigating criminal cases initiated under:
Parts 1, 2, and 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—illegal distribution of narcotic substances, specifically involving a minor;
Part 3 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—trafficking in minors committed by a mother for the purpose of exploitation.
The woman has been notified of the charges against her. She faces up to 15 years in prison. The court granted the investigator’s motion and ordered the suspect to be held in pretrial detention for 60 days without the possibility of bail.
This was reported by the Rivne Regional Police.
