The Court of Appeals dismissed the lawsuit filed by the co-owners of Concord Bank against Getmantsev
The Kyiv Court of Appeals overturned the lower court’s ruling and dismissed in its entirety the lawsuit filed by Olena and Yulia Sosedka, co-owners of Concord Bank, against Danylo Getmantsev, chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Finance.
The lawsuit concerned statements made by Getmantsev during a Verkhovna Rada committee meeting in 2024, when he criticized certain banking institutions and called on law enforcement agencies to investigate possible tax evasion schemes. A publication by the “Ukrainian News” news agency was also challenged.
The Court of Appeals concluded that Getmantsev did not mention the plaintiffs by name, and that his statements constituted value judgments, which, under the law, are not subject to retraction.

As a reminder, Concord’s shareholders challenged in court the National Bank’s decision to remove the bank from the market.
The Supreme Court of Ukraine has definitively upheld the legality of the National Bank’s decision to revoke the banking license and liquidate JSC “AKB ‘Concord.’” The decisions of the lower courts were overturned.
