Five more Ukrainian children have been returned from the occupied Kherson region

Four children and one orphan were successfully returned to territory controlled by Ukraine from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.

Among those rescued were one girl and three boys aged 7 to 17. According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, the children lived under daily pressure and intimidation while under occupation.

One of the 17-year-old boys sang the Ukrainian national anthem at school, after which he was publicly humiliated, and his family was pressured by the occupying military. Another teenager was forced to obtain a Russian passport under threat of not receiving his high school diploma and was forcibly registered for military service.

Currently, all those rescued are safe and receiving the necessary assistance. The repatriation took place as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative, with the support of the charity Save Ukraine.

Since the beginning of 2026, 108 children have already been returned from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.

In the Kharkiv region, authorities plan to implement a mandatory evacuation of children from a number of settlements due to the deteriorating security situation. Local residents are advised not to delay and to leave immediately.
