182 Ukrainians have returned home from Russian captivity — Zelenskyy

As part of a prisoner exchange, 182 Ukrainian citizens have returned home from Russian captivity. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the group includes 175 military personnel and 7 civilians.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram.

"Our people are returning home. 175 military personnel. Soldiers of the Armed Forces, National Guard members, border guards. Privates, sergeants, and officers. And seven civilians," Zelenskyy wrote.

He reported that the soldiers who defended the homeland in Mariupol, at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, and in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv, and Kursk regions have returned. Some of them are wounded. Most of them had been in captivity since 2022.

"I thank every unit that contributes to our exchange fund and thereby brings the return of our people closer. It is a matter of principle for us to bring everyone back from Russian captivity. I thank everyone in the world who is helping us with this," the President noted.

Ukrainian fighters captured two Russian soldiers using drones.

The youngestfreed defender is 23 years old; he was captured at 19, — Joint Forces Command.

Ukraine carried out a new prisoner exchange, in which 157 Ukrainians—both military personnel and civilians—returned home. Among those released were soldiers from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service.
