The lawyers representing the suspect in the murder of Iryna Farion have had their licenses to practice law suspended

The Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Lawyers of Vinnytsia Oblast has suspended the license to practice law of 42-year-old Kyiv-based attorney Larisa Kryvoruchko

She is defending Vyacheslav Zinchenko, who is accused of the high-profile murder of linguist Iryna Farion.

The disciplinary body issued the decision on June 5 due to violations of professional ethics.

The basis for the sanction was gross violations of the rules of legal ethics committed by the lawyer in the Uzhhorod City Court back in 2025. Representatives of the relevant commission officially confirmed the imposition of the sanction.

Experts note that the restriction will remain in effect for twelve months, and a copy of the relevant document has already been officially sent to the human rights activist.

“The decision was adopted on June 5. Larisa Kryvoruchko’s right to practice law has been suspended for a period of one year. This decision was sent to Larisa Serhiivna yesterday evening,” the QDC stated.

The full text of the disciplinary body’s ruling has not yet been published in open sources. The attorney has the right to appeal these sanctions to the Higher Qualification and Disciplinary Bar Commission or in court within 30 days.

Journalists attempted to obtain a telephone comment from Larisa Kryvoruchko, but she did not answer their calls.

Court in Faryon Case Questioned Witness and Searched Zinchenko’s Phone

In Lviv, the court continuedhearing the case regarding the murder of Faryon.

Earlier, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Lviv extended the pretrial detention of Zinchenko, who is accused of murdering Iryna Farion, until March 9, 2026.

A new witness in the Farion case stated that it was not the defendant Zinchenko who was following her.

As a reminder, the suspect in the Faryon murder case claimed in court that his confession was made under duress.
