Freezing rain and sleet: Meteorologist warns of worsening weather on April 29
On Wednesday, April 29, cold weather will persist in Ukraine, with nighttime frosts and a chance of winter precipitation in several regions.
Forecaster Natalka Didenko reported this on her Facebook page. According to her forecast, rain is expected in the north and west of the country, which will occasionally turn into wet snow.
Daytime temperatures in most regions will range from +7 to +10 degrees, while in the south and southeast it will be slightly warmer—from +9 to +13 degrees. A welcome change will be the easing of the wind, which, following previous stormy gusts, will shift to a northwesterly direction and become moderate. Precipitation of varying intensity is likely tomorrow across virtually the entire territory of Ukraine.
Despite the spring season, Arctic air continues to cause low temperatures, forcing farmers and utility services to account for risks to crops and life-support systems. Such weather anomalies are often observed against the backdrop of general climate instability, which has been intensifying in recent years. A gradual warming is expected only after this cold front passes.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center released a forecast for the second month of spring, according to which temperatures and precipitation will remain within the climatic norm.
After a cold winter, Ukrainians are looking forward to spring warmth, but April will bring not only sunshine but also weather “swings.”
