Teachers' salaries will increase by 20% starting September 1
In Ukraine, starting September 1, 2026, teachers’ salaries are set to increase by another 20%. Thus, the total increase in teachers’ pay compared to 2025 will amount to 50%.
After the September adjustment, young teachers will be able to earn between 12,800 and 17,700 hryvnias per month. For teachers with significant experience and high qualifications, salaries will range from 16,900 to 28,500 hryvnias.
The exact amount will depend on years of service, qualifications, and teaching load.
In addition to their base salary, teachers may receive various additional payments. The Ministry of Education and Science notes that there are over 80 types of allowances in total, including those for the prestige of the profession, homeroom teaching, and years of service.
The Ministry of Education plans to make the system of additional payments more transparent and understandable for teachers.
