Forecasters are predicting a cold snap: What will the weather be like on August 19, 2026?
On Wednesday, August 19, an atmospheric front will cross Ukraine, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms and causing a drop in temperatures. The most noticeable drop in temperatures is expected in most regions, while the south and southeast will be warmer.
During the day, temperatures will mostly range from +21 to +28 °C, and at night, the air will cool down to +10 to +17 °C. At the same time, after the front passes, temperatures in Ukraine will gradually rise again.
It will be hottest in the south and southeast of the country, where temperatures will remain higher than in other regions.
Forecasters predict cloudy weather with some sunny intervals, accompanied by fluctuations in pressure and humidity.
At night, brief showers with thunderstorms will occur in most northern, central, and southern regions; during the day, the rain front will shift eastward and southeastward across Ukraine. In the remaining areas, dry weather without significant precipitation will prevail.
Winds are expected to be predominantly westerly, with speeds of 5–10 m/s.
Cool air will spread into Ukraine from the west, giving Ukrainians a brief respite from the heat.
A cool night is expected—temperatures will range from +9 to +14 degrees (in the southern and southeastern regions, it’s traditionally warmer—+13 to +18 degrees). During the day, temperatures will rise to a comfortable +21...+26 degrees.
It will be hottest in the far east of the country, where daytime temperatures will reach +30 degrees.
