In Volyn, the rules for staying near the border with Belarus have been changed
In Volyn, special regulations have been introduced within the first kilometer of the state border with Belarus. To enter this zone, remain there, move around, or carry out any work, one must obtain a special permit from border guards.
The new rules will remain in effect for the duration of martial law.
What’s Changing for Civilians
Within the first kilometer of the border, free entry, stay, residence, movement, and work not related to national defense or the protection of the state border are restricted.
Previously issued permits to enter the 5-kilometer-wide border zone remain valid, provided they do not conflict with the new rules. However, they do not grant the right to stay freely within the first kilometer from the border—a separate permit or renewal of a previously issued permit is required for this.
Residents who live permanently within the one-kilometer zone must contact the 6th Border Guard Detachment to obtain the appropriate permit or to renew an existing one. Those who do not reside there permanently must indicate their current location and the coordinates of the plot when submitting an application.
What Entrepreneurs Need to Know
The new requirements also apply to business owners and organizations conducting work in the border zone. Border guards must be notified of the start of such work at least 24 hours in advance.
The notification must specify the start date of the work, its duration, and the last names, first names, and patronymics of the employees who will be performing it.
The new requirements apply, in particular, to employees of forestry enterprises, national nature parks, and other organizations whose activities involve being in the border zone.
Which communities in Volyn are affected?
In Volyn, the special regime applies to certain settlements in the Samariv, Ratne, and Shatsk communities.
At the same time, no separate permit is required for travel on roads of international and national importance, in particular Highway M-19 to the “Domanove” border crossing and in the opposite direction.
Military personnel may also enter the one-kilometer zone without special permission to carry out defense and border security missions. The relevant units must notify border guards of their entry in advance.
This was announced by Bohdan Ignatyuk, commander of the 6th Volyn Border Guard Detachment, during an operational meeting on Monday, September 21.
Belarus is once again activating relay stations for Russian “Shahids,” according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
As a reminder, Russia struck railway infrastructure in Volyn near the border with Poland.
The “Ukrnafta” gas station chain in Kyiv has once again come under Russian attack. According to the company’s CEO, Bohdan Kukura, this is already the fifth strike on the chain’s gas stations in a short period of time.
Russian attacks using rocket-propelled “Shaheds” are becoming increasingly terrorist in nature. Throughout the day, the Russians have been deliberately targeting gas stations in Kyiv.
