Former Prosecutor General Kravchenko has permanently left the prosecutor's office
Former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has permanently left the prosecutor’s office following his resignation from the post of Prosecutor General. He submitted his resignation, after which Acting Prosecutor General Anton Kovalsky signed the corresponding order.
After stepping down as Prosecutor General, Kravchenko continued to serve as a prosecutor in the Office of the Prosecutor General in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Prosecutor’s Office.”
However, after his business trip ended, Kravchenko did not return to work at the Office of the Prosecutor General. His business trip ended on September 18, and on September 21, he did not report to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The Office of the Prosecutor General noted that, under these circumstances, Kravchenko’s resignation letter provided a legal basis for promptly terminating his employment with the prosecutor’s office.
Another option would have involved a lengthy procedure through the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission for Prosecutors. In that case, Kravchenko would have formally remained a prosecutor with the OGP for some time.
Therefore, the Office of the Prosecutor General decided to accept his resignation and process his dismissal on this basis.
Today, the acting Prosecutor General signed the corresponding order dismissing Ruslan Kravchenko from the prosecutor’s office.
Mariana Gayovska, head of the OGP’s Department of Information Policy and Communications, reported this to RBC-Ukraine.
Former Prosecutor General Kravchenko did not return to work after his business trip.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs currently has no information on the whereabouts of former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada supported Ruslan Kravchenko’s dismissal from the post of Prosecutor General.
