Border guard convicted of passing on the locations of his colleagues to Russia

A Kharkiv court has found an active-duty member of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine guilty of treason under martial law. The investigation fully established that last spring, the defendant, on his own initiative, began collaborating with Russian intelligence agencies via the Telegram messaging app. The defendant regularly collected and sent his handlers precise geographic coordinates, text descriptions, and screenshots of maps marking the locations of Ukrainian defense units.

This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense in the Eastern Region, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

The perpetrator managed to pass on to the enemy secret data regarding the locations of military facilities and personnel in the capital, as well as in the Lviv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions. On May 1, 2026, taking into account all the irrefutable evidence presented by the prosecutors, the court sentenced the collaborator to fifteen years in prison with full confiscation of all his property.

We remind you that the Security Service of Ukraine detained another agent in Mykolaiv who was working for Russia. This is a repeat offender who passed information about the location of the Defense Forces to the enemy.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine issued an in absentia indictment against Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, who is believed to be involved in supporting the war against Ukraine.

In Dnipro and Odesa, Russian agents were exposed for setting fires in the cities.
