Zelenskyy Names a Partner That Helps Ukraine More Than the U.S. — ZDF
In an interview with the German television channel ZDF, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke of significant shifts in the priorities of international support.
According to the head of state, Germany, under the leadership of Chancellor Friedrich Merz, has now taken the lead in providing aid to Kyiv, while Washington’s attention remains focused on events in the Middle East.
During bilateral consultations in Berlin, the leaders agreed to significantly deepen their strategic partnership.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that Berlin’s role has become critically important, especially regarding financial stability and military support.
“Germany is undoubtedly the largest strategic partner in Europe,” stated Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He also added that Chancellor Merz is actively lobbying for the EU to grant Ukraine a €90 billion loan, which Hungary is currently trying to block.
