Zelenskyy has been invited to the NATO summit in Ankara - Rutte
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that he had invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Alliance summit, which will take place in Ankara next month. According to him, the Ukrainian leader’s participation is part of the preparations for the meeting of NATO member states.
He told reporters this at a press conference following the conclusion of the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Helsingborg.
“I have already invited him,” Rutte said in response to a question about whether President Zelenskyy would be invited to the leaders’ summit in Ankara in June.
“He will be there, just as he was at the summit in The Hague,” Rutte added.
Zelenskyyhas ordered the strengthening of air defense near Belarus.
Alexander Lukashenko stated that he is allegedly ready to visit Ukraine and discuss relations with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In Kyiv, such statements were met with the utmost restraint and firmness, with officials reminding him of Belarus’s role in the war.
